Wonderful spice notes, strong hints of pepper and delcisious alongside a bacon wrapped filet. Far exceeded my expectations. While not a typical Pinot profile to me, I really enjoyed this one.

Nose: earth, chocolate, red fruits, strawberry, nutty, hint of cherry tomato, grassy, raspberry Notes: the domaine is probably more well known as the other owner of Clos de Lambrays, the not so monopole monopole. This wine has an excellent nose and the overall style is seductive with a good enough structure and body to demonstrate the Gevrey element in it. This is a rare breed of value for money Grand Cru today and coming from the Mazoyeres parcel which is often labeled and commercialized as Charmes Chambertin instead. This is in superb condition and very pleasant to consume now, based on its performance I think this should stand for another 10-15 years without much problem. Drink: now - 2038 Rating: 92

TM Mazoyeres vs Charmes Dinner. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin watery rim. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of boiled meat, beef broth, red cherries, dark vegetal earth. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of beetroot, spicy stem, red cherries, bramble earth, some meat. Long finish. Very good quality. Feels like quite developed and time to drink already.

Still a bit tight but the essence is there. Strong grip on the bite, dark red cherry, long spicy finish. Needs time to develop but has the right structure for LT aging. Hold for at least 5.

Very pretty. Nice fruit and acidity, not a ton of aromatics but tasty for sure.
