Consumed over 3 nights. I was a bit apprehensive in trying this, as I wasn't sure if the notoriously challenging 2013 vintage conditions in Provence would have compromised the quality of this wine. No fear. It has a beautiful nose, mostly exotic weedyness from the cab franc, but the syrah and merlot lend a cool, dark fruit component. Good velvety mouthfeel with some tannin. This would be a good crowd pleaser to bring to a party, not only for the quaffing crowd but also for the wine geeks among them. A versatile wine and a really good value!

Though a dense brilliant purple, this wine is somewhat light on the pallette. I get figs, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. I enjoyed it with duck breast.

Soft and chocolaty, this is a great bridge wine for those who want to branch out of California and into French wine.
