  • Nose had a sleek, green component that is varietally correct. I appreciate that. Lots of energy with intense red currant. Tannins subdued but still has years ahead of it given the intensity. Impressive in its way, but a little one note; maybe should have decanted longer.

  • Tasted right after opening and initial impression was more alcohol than expected. The alcohol predominance became more mellow and wine became way more balanced after about 2 hours decanted. Cork was perfect and only had a perfect dark red/purple color in the bottom, maybe, 1 mm of the cork. I believe wine will keep for another 10 years easily and highly recommend decanting at least 2 hours before drinking. At that point wine is delicious, well balanced and very strong. Felt like a young wine although it has been in a bottle for 22 years.

  • At first, the nose was very licorice, suggesting that the wine was past its peak. But aeration will do it the greatest good to allow a bright fruit to emerge, against a background of undergrowth and leather. Overall, the wine is a little older for a Cabernet Sauvignon if we take Bordeaux as a benchmark but it remains lively and evolves positively.

The palate is frank and impactful. The acidity remains sufficient and even gives it a suave side, a beneficial thing before the wine develops its 14.9° on a dense juice. Aromas of black fruits, cocoa and tobacco intertwine. However, this lacks substance considering the asking price even if it is a well-made and flavorful wine. Beautiful woody finish with a rocky length.

Very good Cabernet Sauvignon, with a colder profile than those of California.

  • Purchased on released, and stored in temperature controlled cellar. Decanted 4 hours. Still tight. Opened up over two hours. A lot of life left. Dark fruits.
