The nose is all inky plums. The palate is also quite plummy, with a rather large mouthfeel but very well integrated tannins balanced by a fair bit of acidity. The alcohol is not particularly noticeable though it does give ample texture and good longevity in the throat. At the perfect drinkable stage!

Needs plenty of aeration. Has a restrained yet beautiful, classical earthy nose of dusty raspberries, cherries, minerals, blackberries and figs. Has a strapping and Boticelli like medium to full bodied palate with enormous concentration, a gorgeously textured middle with gobs of fruit, lowish acidity, no discernable oak ending on a craggy, long and rolling yet voluptuous finish. One of the best wines I have ever tasted from South West France.

Five years since I last had this, and it's really nice. Yeah, there's oak, but while still prominent it's starting to ease back off center stage. Beautiful acids power through the wine's density to keep things interesting.
