The '18 Aux Murgers is a beautiful young Burgundy, although not as impressive as the '19 I tasted a few weeks ago. Comparatively, this seems lighter texturally and with less depth than the '19, but still showcases beautiful fruit.
On the nose, I found dark red raspberry fruits, roasted meats, sweet spices, violet, a hint of bitter chocolate, and dark hard candy like fruits. On the palate, the wine is medium to light in body, showing very refined but lacking a bit in depth. Dark red raspberry fruits, bitter chocolate, smoke, and a hint of citrus zest flow across the palate, with a creamy mouthfeel and slightly short finish, but overall a very elegant and pretty wine.
The '18 is a solid young wine that shows great elegance, but the '19 was clearly the wine I would want to own.

France and Italy - May 6 to May 10, 2019: From barrel. Aromas of raspberry fruit, crushed stone, hibiscus, damp earth and savory spices. Richer fruit on the palate - fig, with seamless secondary density. Mineral high-tones emerging. Fine structure and excellent length.
