This is not a shy Carignane! Plenty of structure - acids, tannins, flavor. Ran into an aerating decanter 1 hour in advance, then back into bottle before starting. Paired great with pasta with a bacon/chanterelle/tomato sauce. This feels like it will improve with age, but in the meantime will pair well with hearty fare. Old vine magic.

Lucious and velvety. A pleasant rhone style varietal that was perfect with winter fare, especially if you feel a bit pinot'd out. Dried raspberry was dominant for me. It needed a few years to settle, I remember it being awkward on release.

The words that come to mind are “this is a really tasty wine”. It has a bright fruit note in the mid body that really makes this pop it is very enjoyable.

Frankly, this was delicious! The wine itself is very pretty, with well-balanced red fruit and tartness, almost a cranberry hint to it. It has a medium-light body with a bright, juicy mouthfeel. It's not "big" like some other BB wines (say, Rattlesnake Rock), but this was amazing on a nice summer evening. I wish I had more than just this one bottle.
Decanted for about 30 minutes (something between regular and splash decanting).

I found this enjoyable. It isn't that complex, but it does remind me of a lot of fun S France wines. Of course, those wines are often a lot cheaper, even imported, but it is still fun to taste a good local version.
