Not the best Trinquevedel I've tasted. It lacks the creaminess and mix of oil and red fruit and mineral dryness that I expect form this producer. From Tavel I expect a dive in a vividly clear cool pool (or glass) on a hot summer day that transports me with its chilled but delicate strength, a wine that stands up to garlicky summer dinners and grillled fare. Maybe Tavels age very quickly and I should be drinking the 2008s. I've had delicious garden variety Provence rosé that rivals this bottle at close to half the price.

Bold pink in color, with cool watermelon and sage aromas. The palate shows flavors of Fruit Loops, minerals, and black tea, which are totally dry. From the Tavel AOC, which only produces rose' wines.

Darker then your average Rose, it begins with a very floral nose, with hints of the upcoming red fruit. Lots of strawberries, and spicey cherries on the medium to full bodied palate, even a little rum on the finish. Overall nicely done and well balanced, and could probably even improve some with age.

Drank with a picnic at My Morning Jacket concert at Red Rocks. Love the wine. Good price on a Tavel.
