Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: X-Mas Tasting 2018: Popped and poured from a perfect bottle. Clear, medium amber color. Clean nose, medium intense, fully developed and not that expressive and appealing to me. On the palate medium-sweet with medium+/high, well-integrated acidity. Much better than the nose with a nice concentration and tension. Ripe yellow fruit, lots of steely mineral notes, only a touch of botrytis and honey. Quite long and lingering. This bottle could be kept for some more years, but I would guess it is already a bit past peak and would not improve. 92

Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Vertical (Trestle on Tenth): Some called corked, I disagree since I was able to drink most of a glass, but it sure ain't good. Flat and dull, not fruitless but far from fresh. A boring peach-juice flavor, no real flesh and definitely no edge.

A night of Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle at Trestle on Tenth (NYC): The nose was quite awful, reeking of mothballs, volatile acidity and esters. Didn't bear the slightest resemblance to a wine, more like a chemistry experiment gone wrong. Undrinkable.

Riesling & Pizza (London): Great nose, apricot and chopped mint, killer acidity but concentrated fruit sits above it, excellent.

Excellent as usual. There was tar/slate on the nose and in finish. The wine itself was honeyed with apricots. Great backbone. had with escargot.
