  • This was absolutely stupendous. No formal notes taken, but the memory is firm. I decanted it for 7 hours and it was glorious from first pour, with the most stunning natural strawberry aroma you’ve ever smelled in a glass. The whole wine was elegance and grace throughout its whole presentation, and this wine was absolutely drinking in full glory. The tannin and acid profile are some of the most beautiful, seamless representation of structure I've ever come across... nothing about it seemed aggressive; just perfectly beautiful and integrated giving real pleasure. I am always one to let my traditional Barolo producers age forever in the cellar, but this is so bloody good at current, with silky graceful tannins and wonderful pure naturally integrated acidity that there is no reason not to drink these right now. I’m glad I still have over a case left of the ‘15, which makes me feel comfortable to dive into another bottle soon. While it will live for quite some time, it is so good and stunningly integrated right now there really is no reason to wait. It will most certainly continue to change as it ages, but I'm not sure if it really will be "better." A truly incredible Burlotto.

  • Helles Granatrot. 96 vvPunkte

  • Fantastic - light and mid weight. Fresh with wild fruit - strawberry’s cherry and a more savoury element on nose. Asian spice / hoi sin.
Very open and approachable - with time it seems to put on weight and loses some of those elements on the nose.

  • Very consistent to a bottle two years. Fully open for business, ethereal, Burgundian. Marvellous.

  • Could not help but have another bottle. Amazing and more open than the 2016 right now.
