Uh oh... cork dropped into the bottle.. not good. However, a classic '76. Port-like character. Lasted a few minutes and then died. At its very short-lasting peak, it was leathery, a bit astringent and tough. died.

Mature Burgundy Offline (Medlar, Chelsea): This was a touch reticent with a notably dirty, bitter edge. On the palate it was quite generously layered and there was some nice pure red fruit, but the bitter edge was again rather off-putting. Others found the bitter notes less prevalent and really liked this, but it wasn't really for me. **

Pretty red nose that developed notes of beef stock with time. Great palate depth with lots of bright red fruit. Very good.
