  • My very last bottle from the (pre-premox) illustrious Colin-Deleger house. This was an excellent bottle featuring toasted almond, citrus and mineral (if not particularly racy, due to the vintage). Quite a nice bottle. Excellent.

  • Some impressions from 3 weeks ago...floral on the nose, with toasty almond, lemon, baked green apple cobbler and mineral. I remember it not being very precise or racy but really enjoying this a lot. Rather a lot. Excellent.

  • OMFG! This is truly spectacular. I am working through the last of my 99-03 white burgs and I came upon this one in the back of the cellar. As always, it is a minor miracle when white burgs from those years are not pre-moxed (esp Colin-Delegers!). This was a stunning PC Chassagne, that easily could compete w/ the best Leflaive has to offer. I kid you not! Gorgeous beam of honeyed yellow fruits, wild flowers, almonds, and just the right amount of toasty oak. More buttery than most, and maybe a tad shy on acid (probably due to the scorching weather in 03) but this is not at all flabby and is drinking at GC level. I have had a number of 03's from C-D, including Chassagnes and Pulignys, and of those that hadn't gone off, this is by far the most memorable. Doubt anyone will find this on the market, but it is a showstopper at the moment. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

  • Light golden yellow color. Mineral, vanilla and citrus on the nose. Mineral, vanilla, lemon and a touch of toasted almond on the palate. A little more advanced than one drunk last year but still with plenty of life. Excellent.

  • Light golden yellow color with green glints. Nose of quartz and river stone, some vanillin, and a deep citrus note of meyer lemon. On the palate it seems to have more body than I expect for a Chaumees, still it's medium-bodied. Zingy fruit, stone, chalk, vanilla, lemon and a touch of pink grapefruit. Shockingly young for a 2003 and missing any notes of toasted almond or anything pleasant or unpleasant related to oxidation. Excellent.
