Dark Fruit, Long finish. Let this open a bit before drinking. Has a beautiful nose. Acidity and tannins in the front of the mouth and on top. Not too much on the sides of my tongue... Rasins and Black Cherrys on the initial taste. I think this would go well with duck or a nice steak. I had it witch chicken mole and the chocolate pushed the taste of the wine further into my back pallet. Definitely holding it's own.

Lovely stuff, and based on the tannins, acidity and fruit a few years left at the top. Black cherry, plums and blackcurrent on the nose with a lovely roasted meat rubbed with asian spices base note. The same fruits follow through on the palate along with spices, mint, vanilla a touch of chocolate but then followed by keen acidity and still quite lively tannins. Paired nicely with a robust roast chicken dinner.

Decanted 2hrs and drank over next hour. Smooth as silk but the group understandably were surprised that it was a Barossa Shiraz since the characters of the terroir were lacking. I suspect this is on the decline.

Appearance: deep mahogany core with a crimson rim. Nose has that classic Barossa shiraz profile - black fruits, plum, some oak and spice. Palate: full bodied, noticeable fine tannins. Nice long finish. Right in the drinking window for mine. An excellent wine. Consumed with barbecued scotch fillet steak.

Ripe black cherry and plums. Earthiness, spice and leather. In excellent shape, should comfortably last to 20yrs and then some.
