1976 - 1996 Pinot Noir (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Crimson with light bricking. Baking spice and a touch of brett on the nose. Light to medium body with low to med acidity. Slightly sweet black cherry and baking spice with a bit of tannic structure left. Nice depth and balance. (my 2nd, group's 2nd)

Medium-dark red with some transparency. Aromas of red berries, leaves, sous bois, and rhubarb. Palate shows a plummy core with some strawberry and sous bois on the medium finish. Drink.

Dark garnet color. Aromas of smoke, beef broth, cherries, and mushrooms. Porcini and smoky cherry palate with some smoky bitter chocolate elements emerging on a medium finish. Some sous bois also present. Better showing than a previous bottle a few months ago, but still this one is in a "time to drink" phase. Drink.

Dark red color. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, plum, and a hint of tomato. On the palate, this shows some oxidation with a slightly stewed tomato character that is still underneath a ripe plum, blackberry, and cherry fruit veneer. Notes of mushroom and sous bois frame the fruit and the finish is medium-short. This is on the decline but pleasant to quaff, no more. Drink up.

Dried cherry and a little wet earth. Fruit starts to brighten on the finish. Very good acidity and will go well with a variety of food.
