It was absolutely beautiful with Vosne-like sensation of flowers, red fruit and stems. It was so beautiful and precise with impeccable fruit purity. I thought it was a DRC Ech in blind.95+

Grand Vin in da house; I was guessing the commune correctly, but thinking 1999 and 2005, it is a firm and concentrated wine, but this has much more concentrated fruit, than I normally find in the 2001's. Spicy, rich, yet elegant - a treat and gone so quickly. From HSA. #Kandestederne #Henrik&Musse

A Chambertin evening: wow, what a nose, a herbbomb, very concentrated on the palate, tasty and velvety, some dark fruit, very balanced though, unexpected performance for this average Burgundy year, very long finish, ****+, 92-94?

First time trying Mortet's Chambertin and very impressed by it, all it needs is more time in the cellar. Still pretty primary, dark red in color, wonderful nose of darker red fruit, loads of spices, undergrowth, residual oak spice and some red floral elements in the back. Medium plus palate with lots of sap but unable to show it all now, excellent balance and very long finish.

Chambertin Dinner with Lieu-dit Cru (Inovasi - Lake Bluff IL): Tasted single blind. Aromas of blackberry and black cherry and red cherry with dark, brooding spice in background. Massive fruit on palate with some candied character to them, as well as a trace of cassis. Powerful and elegant at the same time, this wine is already showing incredible balance. This was my only bottle so I will try to find another to try again some time in what I expect to be this wine's drinking window of now-2031. Open and decanted a couple of hours before serving.
