Nose of hawthorn, earth. Less acidity compare to the 96 Denis Mottet chambertin, more softer but with better structure. Medium flavor intensity. Tanning could be finer. Fuller and heavier body compare to AR chambertin. More meaty and fat.

Fantastic wine. Quite open, with many layers on the nose: Herbs, strawberries with balsamico, underwood, dried roses. Very transparent on the palate, fine string of acidity, not heavy or dark as Mortet sometimes can be. Long finish. Stunning wine!!

Very primary on the nose - tight and young. Strawberry and raspberry, coffee and spice. Juicy on the palate with good tannins. Still young - no perfume, but good. Lots of potential. Judgement deferred.

Great red burgundy 1999 horizontal tasting (21 wines) - semi blind (Nordsjaelland): Very fruity, typical Mortet. The evening's no. 3 (together with Charlopin-Parizot Charmes Chambertin 1999) after Charlopin-Parizot Echezeaux 1999 and the outsider (not 1999 but 1973) DRC Romanee St. Vivant 1973. 95++
