Dinner at Providence (Providence, Los Angeles, USA): A red hued nose of rhubarb and raspberry, with just a smattering of earth and aniseed. The palate shows restraint with a good balance between delicate red fruit and earthy savoury characteristics. It isn’t especially complex but it is drinking well and is quite enjoyable now.

Rose ruby color. Very ripe cherry and strawberry aromas with vanilla creamsicle. Touches of tangerine peel, flower patch, sagebrush - but these are mostly way underneath the prominent fruit, and I'm actually not really a fruit sensitive taster. Rich and concentrated on the palate without seeming over-extracted. Not, however, showing much complexity or subtlety or individuality. It's a wine I like and enjoy more than I can objectively score it.

14.5% ABV IIRC. Somewhat translucent cloudy dark garnet in the glass. Aromatic black cherry with a nice herbal note followed by a sense of savory earth. Medium-full bodied with nicely balanced elements of ripe but savory black cherry. Well done.

Really nice balanced wine. Good acid, good fruit, bright, deep.
