  • A cross between a more fruit driven Cali pinot and a Burgundy. Sightly darker with darker fruit than a traditional Burg but with good earthy tones. A nice wine.

  • I was first introduced to the Holdredge Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at Alexander's Steakhouse back in early 2006. I ordered the 2004 Holdredge Russian River Valley P/N ($60ish on the list) and a 2001 Volker Eisele C/S ($70 to $80 on the list) and both were spot on. Since then I have had a few other Holdredge Pinots and I think for the money they make a fantastic wine. This bottle did not disappoint. Great color and smell and the wine was very smooth and not overpowering. The wine had a great combination of earth and fruit. I also recently had the 2006 Kistler Kistler Vineyard Pinot Noir for $80, and in my opinion, I would rather have two bottles of the Holdredge and the extra $20 in my pocket. I love Kistler, but for the money, Holdredge makes a fantastic Pinot Noir ---- www.vinoservant.com --- Breaking Down Restaurant Wine Lists | The Right Bottle at the Right Price

  • 14.4% alcohol. Red cherry color. Lovely aromatics, with a distinct floral note to the black cherry, baking spice, and mineral aspects. In the mouth, lush and mouth-coating, yet retaining great precision and focus, allowing the black cherry to wash over your tongue supported by floral and earthy tones. It retains very good acidity and has a long finish. It is delivering on its youthful promise of a couple years ago. A-

  • A spicy nose of wild berry, light to medium amber in color. A light to medium bodied Pinot, strawberry, plum with a good finish, a solid wine.

  • 14.4% alcohol. Translucent red cherry color. Very pretty nose of flowers, black cherry, spice, minerals, and a bit of oak. In the mouth, texturally beautiful and wonderfully pure. Black cherry fruit is framed by terrific floral and earth notes. Bright acidity. Long finish that marries chocolate and cherry. Youthful but drinking very well. Another couple years will allow it to develop better. A-
