My first Holdredge and not going to be my last. A great example of a RRV blend. The sum is greater than any of the parts. It immediately showed on the nose. Some cherry cola flavors but not too much that mix well with the earthier notes. A really nice finish.

Very well-balanced --- warm red fruits; nice medium tart acidity; no tannin; alcohol not noticeable; no funkiness; some typical RRV spice. If this is under $30, it's a great deal.

This is a nice little wine. Red cherry fruit, sure the fruit is a jolly-rancher-ish but there's none of the overripe black cherry cola flavors that I detest and that are so common in RRV pinot. There's plenty of acidity so that the wine is juicy and there's a nice sweet/tart balance. Medium-bodied, with some soft, fuzzy tannin that gives the wine texture, but this is not "structured" and I don't see this being a long ager. Perhaps nothing special in the big picture but I find a lot of CA pinot virtually undrinkable, so ending up in the "drinkable" column is quite an accomplishment for me, especially at this price point.
