Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 89.7 points

  • Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Clear, pale garnet - definite bricking on the edges. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developed aromas of dried cherry, strawberry jam, Asian spice, cola, and earth. Palate: Dry, medium- acid and tannin, medium- intensity, 14.3% abv, medium body with fully developed flavors of red jammy fruit - cherry and raspberry, spice, and earth with a medium- finish. Overall still a good fully developed wine excelling in balance and complexity. Drink now.

  • Pop and pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, black raspberry, cherry, cola, rose petals and hints of bacon fat - very intriguing. Palate: Medium bodied, raspberry and cherry attack, nice acidic back-bone, spice driven mid-palate lift, back-end is dominated by slightly tart red fruit which dominates a 30-45 second finish. My last of 3 bottles, the first two being consumed around 5 years ago. Looking back at my notes it's amazing how little this has evolved indicating there is probably another 2-5 year drinking window left for anybody who still has any.

  • At these prices, I should rate this 100. Good QPR in the high $20's. Great, clearish color. Taste of cheeries.

  • Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, red fruit - cherry & raspberry, freshly baked cinnamon roll, pine tree, and a hint of earthiness. Palate: Medium bodied, sweet red fruit and spice attack, nice acidic kick mid-palate balances out the up-front sweetness, back-end is dominated by semi-tart red fruit, cinnamon and spice which stick around through a medium length finish. Very consistent with my previous bottle, if anything perhaps a bit more balanced and smooth this time around.

  • Popped 1 hour before first pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, brown sugar, cinnamon, candied red fruit - raspberry & cherry - a turn off to some out there maybe, but not me. Palate: Good balance, raspberry cinnamon attack, nice acidic kick mid-palate thru the bak-end where it's joined by a cola component. Finish: Medium-plus length sense of sweet/tart red fruit.
