What a well structured wine by John Clews with a moderate level of alcohol that is a pleasure to drink. I guess I am old school and like a more French style of low alcohol wines. This wine pairs so well with a great meal. I am so tired of what came out of Napa in the 2000's, High alcohol, high tannin fruit bombs that the new comers to wine thought was great for getting drunk on. The wine industry catered to this group because just like everything else, Money is still the way they keep score. OK, off my soap box. This wine is still packed with earthy aromas and good acidity. The dense concentrated flavors along with just the right amount of oak make this a perfectly balanced wine. A must have that I know you will enjoy.

Classic California Cab still drinking superbly; decanted two hours before serving at monthly wine tasting group; tannins subdued and moderate, pleasing fruit with a long refreshing finish;

Robust Cab that drinks well with beef or game. Drinking well, but should drink now. Full black and blue fruit with heavy tannins, but blends well together. Also has some earth and brown spices. Medium length finish.

Napa 2011; 10/6/2011-10/9/2011 (Napa Valley, California): 80% CS 15% Petit Verdot remainder Merlot. This was a chameleon, caramel came and quickly went. Fruit core but really not giving up much for me. Great but a bit puzzling.

Quite nice. Tannin was subtle. Smooth. Still well in it's drinking window.
