A bit past it's prime mute still floral as hell. Drank well into day 2. Fruit was gone and all that was left were the end of tertiary notes. 5 years ago it would have been a stunner.

At Clos du Val today, Jim poured our final wine of our forty-second wedding anniversary trip to Napa, thank you Jim, nose of cassis, plum and fig, briary, dry forest floor, more of the same on the palate, past its prime but from a great Napa vintage, big body, better tasting than on my previous visit, lovely old time Cabernet Sauvignon flavors on the mid palate, and a long finish.

At Clos du Val, Alex and Bill poured this special wine from the past glories of this winery-thank you, nose of cassis, dark fruit, plum, dry earth, and allspice, more of the same on the palate, touch simple, medium body, good acid present but past its prime, not the best bottle or example, medium/long flavorful finish.

Decent but thin nose of cherry; alcohol on the nose as well, although the lable indicates 13%. still maintains tannin in the front of the mouth with fruit still present, but thin in the back. Short aftertaste. Holds up well over an hour after opening, but definitlely on its last legs.
