TN: Quintarelli, Dal Forno, Bussola, Caprai, Bea ++: Not as good as the 98, but still very good. A nose of cherries, and cherry liqueur. Seems to be ageing much more slowly. 7 hours of breathing. This shows depth but not as delineated. Very nice. My understanding is this is basically a single vineyard Valpolicella although ti carries the IGT tag.

Decanted and poured, this begins by showing a lot of promise; however, the wine retreats with airing, becoming disjointed and reserved. Hopefully a few additional years of bottle age gives this wine a more harmonious showing.

Red and dark fruit nose. Big dark fruit with tart acidity and soft tannins in the mouth. Lingering raisin finish.

Needs at least 1.5 hours in decanter to really open up.
