  • The nose was dark, showing crushed black cherry, intense cedary spice, penetrating earthy minerals, dusty dried rose, and hints of moist earth. On the palate, silky textures gave way to a saturating mix of acids, minerals, gruff tannin and spice, as masses of dried cherries and a twang of bitter herbs resonated. The finish was medium in length, and a bit rustic, showing edgy acids and grippy mineral-laden tannins over fruit, followed by a noticeable alcohol heat.

It may not have been a great bottle of wine, but I can't help but enjoy it for the experience along.
