With only 30 minutes of air, this isn't showing much in the way of fruit. Nose of black cherries, dried pine needles, underbrush and spice. Medium-bodied, this has light flavors of black cherry, pine, pressed flowers and autumn leaves. Will revisit after more air.
Later: This is still dry and lacking much charm, but moderately complex and correct. Drink now-2026 90
My last bottle of this was about two years ago. Not an off bottle as it was delicious but fairly advanced. Brownish color with secondary notes emerging. Still plenty of tannin and acid but packing brightness. Plums, brown sugar, mineral, caramel, aged leather and wet earth.

Delicious Barolo from a steep, east-facing MGA vineyard near Serralunga d'Alba. Clean, complex, with M+ tart red fruit, ripe plum, roses, medicinal herbs, espresso and a fair amount of oak spice. Dry, with nice fruit, M+ acidity, M+ tannins and high alcohol (14.5%). Full-bodied and broad-shouldered yet very well balanced, with intense flavors and a long finish. Would benefit from a decant or even a few more years to show its best. Should last indefinitely thanks to its structure and the excellence of this vintage.

Rock hard structure and tannins here that need quite a few more years to breakdown. Drank over the course of two days and didn’t budge much. Beautifully expressive nose of truffle, leather, cherry and rose leads into a tart mineral dominated palate. Doable with food but not a ton of pleasure at this stage. Upward potential for a few more points but for now the nose it’s the draw.

Lifted, with sweet cherry, wild flower, and menthol. Significant power to the dark fruited flavors but the lifted personality gives a sense of early accessibility. Drink starting 2023.
