  • Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Long legs. Sediments at end of bottle. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, earth, redcurrant, ripe dark red cherries, bit of spice and mint. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15%), integrated but still formidable high tannins, full body. Medium+ going pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red plums, redcurrant, ripe dark red cherries, licorice, mushrooms, savoury earth, dark spice, mint, chocolaty tar. Very long tarry finish.
Very very good quality. Big bold Serralunga but balanced despite the 15% alc and ripeness. Drinking at peak now.
From the Cerretta cru in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba.
Seems like this bottling has a small percent of the wine that seems a bit of new oak barrels, as compared to the more traditional Baudana cru bottle.

  • Decanted and served.
Very elegant barolo, dark cherries, herbal. Soft and elegant on the palate, good fruit, cherries and leather. A bit of evolution here that goes well. Only comment we would make is that it doesn't stand out . Still a good 92

  • PnP, served at 55 degrees. Chalk, limestone, crazy viscosity, chewy. Maraschino cherries, hint of raspberry. Light floral and dark earth notes. Coats the mouth, finish evoles across the palate and lingers forever. Thought this would be good, was blown away. Highest score I've ever given a Barolo - not a feminine, austere Barolo, this is huge and beyond delicious.

  • Fantastic nose and a flavor that lives up to the promise. Dark fruit, flint/iron, spice and the push pull of acid & tannin. Likely in a long drinking window. Wish I had more. Opened at noon & drank several hours later with savory foods and truffle cheese on a cool, raw day. Perfect!

  • Still young and undeveloped but still it offers nice cherry, leather, olive leaf and floral nose. On the palate it has a solid structure while medium bodied and refreshing.

(Luigi Baudana Ceretta) A nose of cedar, dried cherry, and truffle is followed by a generous midpalate with noticeable, but not excessive, oak. The slightly bitter finish indicates that this wine needs time—best in 15-20 years. Appellation: Serralunga d'Alba
