This was my red blind at Jason's and.......I have to say, it did a lot better than I expected. I've found mid 2000s Arnoux-Lachaux to be overoaked and overextracted, but despite being a 2009 this was in a good place, with some nice dark cherry fruit. Not too much Vosne signature (I didn't get it right blind), but a very good village that's drinking well now. To me, the platonic ideal of a very good village Burgundy that wouldn't even be a disappointment as a 1er cru.

Tasted over 2 hrs -pretty dark red faint purple no bricking -restrained rich dark fruit wet stone with a bit of licorice and the slightest hint of mature funk -med/med- acidity, med/med+ weight silky textured fading black fruits with a bit of earth and oak, finishes with slight heat -OK and what one would expect from an '09 Vosne-Romanée from a good producer though this doesn't exceed those expectations; on its prime drinking plateau now

1 glass coravined. Medium/deep ruby, narrow rim. Nose shows rich, ripe dark fruit, good purity too, vanilla, just a hint of earth. Medium/full bodied, youthful, glossy black fruit - black cherry, blackcurrant, fine tannins, has good depth, balanced acidity and a good length finish. Excellent.
Finished 25/12 - no discernible change.

Big, ripe flavor. Must be a warm vintage. Perhaps too ripe for me. Enjoyed but we tend to prefer lighter weight wines.
