Nose: rose, spices, cream, red fruits, dark chocolate Notes: although the nose started off quite nicely but the palate is rather simplistic and lacks sophistication and body structure. Honestly this has a great nose and I enjoyed smelling this more than drinking it. As time goes by the nose keeps getting better and better while the palate stays rather flat. I think this is a good village wine and one can pop and pour without thinking too much but certainly this won't match the price tag it's carrying. I admire the great winemaking here but the appellation here is probably the limitation. I believe 2016 the Domaine is still under transition in terms of winemaking so there's a good chance that 2016 is not reflecting 100% of the new style just yet. Drink: now+ Rating: 88

It was taking on a little bit of earthy development and was very much red fruited. So silky in the mouth, with a hint of floral spice. Mid-weight and balanced with fine minerally detail to the finish.

Drank at Le Galleon in Beaune. Agree with earlier spice and energy notes. Definitely not a “mess”; lovely with the shellfish bisque and sweetbreads. Red fruits, some leather and savory notes, clearly better in a few years but wonderful on a late summer eve.

A bretty mess of a wine - red fruit, finely textured; but short, a bit tart, and lots of poop. Reminds me much of a Baudry Chinon - which is not necessarily a bad thing - but it’s a lot of $$ for a Baudry ringer.

Red fruit and spice dominate. Silky and delicious. Very youthful and needs a little age. Great potential.
