I really enjoyed this wine. It was immediately open for business and it had a seductive nose followed by a silky palate, with a good balance of fruit and acidity. Tannins were there but mostly in the background.
I think I managed to catch a good bottle in a great spot (and a good price, given the hype train) so lucky me. Overall, a very solid village wine, and I was grateful to share it with an old friend.

Very different style than the 2017 consumed alongside. This nose is earthy and dark, compared to the floral red fruits of the 17. But I also appreciate this style, and the palate is in an excellent place. Solid bottle of village burg.

Bottle breathe for 1.5 hours. Nose with cherry and red fruit. It showed the strength that are consistent with Arnoux-Lachaux in later years. Complex (given village) with spice and fruit in the palate. Medium finishing.

Quite an intense nose of red cherries and some strawberries. A little smokey spicey oak in the background and then some other spice, maybe 5 spice. Palate has lots more red fruits, a good bit of fresh acidity and some smooth tannins and more delicate oaky spice. The finish is smooth and tasty and a delicate hint if sweet fruits. A decent village Vosne-Romanée and certainly not letting the side down. Drinking well but not an everyday day drinker but certainly one to seek out and #giveanewwineago I paid £43 en primeur 6 years ago and it will be hard to find this for less than £50, but it is worth it for burgundy lovers.

Drank off the list at the Ritz in London. P&P.
