Time's been good. At 8 years old, it's still youthful in color and lively on the palate with concentrated stone fruit, green apple and minerality. Really shows it's pedigree.

White Burgundy, C9duP and Priorat (@ PC): In the bouquet some yeasty flavors. Yellow and white fruits and nuts as well. On the palate a touch of oak, yellow fruits and a lot of tart lemon. Overall a round, but not extremely special wine. Does it need more time? Hope so. Try again around 2020.

Paul D's Chandon de Briailles @ 28-50 (28-50, Fetter Lane, London): Very tight on the nose. Wet stone, tightly floral, a sense of oak in the background, but a bit pulled in on the nose. Something tropical coming through too. Densely textured. Quite oaky rich. A faint chalkiness. Lots of heft up front, a little raw and skinny through the back end. Herbal and fore square. A cart horse rather than a thoroughbread. Bare ***
