  • This bottle was over mature, deep gold with some oxidised notes of old apples and yeast. Tasted alongside a Drouhin Puligny Montrachet Folatieres 2009, which is also fully developed but ageing better. Both are great examples of Drouhins elegant, more affordable burgundies.
The Meursault was still much enjoyed, with its expressive nose, broad palate and undeniable Meursault class, but the several bottles left will need to be drunk soon so drop round if you feel like sharing one.

  • Same btl as R&Rler and I agree wholeheartedly, this was special tonight and my over all surprise WOTN. I usually pass on every Drouhin offfered me but, this was spectacular and definitely showed Grand Cru terroir depth and balance. This had an amazing bead of minerality and showed a rarely found balance between maturity & zip. It might drink a smidge older then its 10yrs but only in a positive resolved way. I loved every drop i drank of this wine. Superb! This would give Roulot a run for its money and seems a step up from the always excellent Bouchard version. 95+

  • WTDS at Meritage (Meritage, St. Paul): Light-medium gold color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. This was spot on with a brilliant mix of age and complexity along with bright acid and freshness. Wow, explosive nose, honey, melon, white fowers, lemon, stone. The palate is full bodied, lemon oil texture, creamy, creme brulee, almond paste, very long. This has immense depth and power, but it is so deft and energetic. This is grand cru level all the way. I'm kicking myself for not getting more of these.

  • Mid gold color, showing development. Cool nose of crushed fennel bulb, citrus, honeyed top notes, and toast. Palate limpid, minerally but also with a fiery cut. All the above delivered with with restraint. Elegant and classy, a smashingly good glass of white Burgundy.
