Good fill, cork half way soaked but came out well. Surprisingly fresh and with good fruit such as blackberry, dark cherry and black currant. However clearly tertiary character with notes of graphite and blood, tobacco and signs of forest floor, also with cedar and a prominent herbal note, mint of some kind. Drank well for the first couple of hours after opening and then became thinner with time. Very nice surprise

Picked this up at a tag sale last fall for $2.50 so I can't comment on its storage history and was not expecting much. I did however find a very drinkable bottle after decanting. Some fruit but I can only assume that most of it had disappeared.

Deep, brick sienna. Funky whiff of brine dissipates with air, shifting to a lovely, ripe bouquet of dried cherries, pastille, white pepper, sea air, and touches of leather, smoke, and graphite. Savory character, but has compensating fruit, length, and depth, with loads of umami, earth, and a lip-smacking acidity that gives lift to the long cherry finish. Maybe not what it once was but a nice fallback bottle after the flawed '76 Chateau Gloria.

Red fruits, leather, smoke, but really dominated by herbs. Not the longest or fullest of the 70s Mondavi Napas, but a satisfying midweight at end of maturity plateau. B+/B

Similar to prior taste, this bottle was a bit better though. Fairly flat. Favors were earthy and leather
