  • Heading downhill. Light in body and boring, generic red wine flavor which lacks any typicity relative to zinfandel or Dry Creek character.

  • Sleek and polished with clarity, beautiful weight and perfect acidity. This aint your suburban daddy's backyard burger bottle. Serious Zin and no, that isn't an oxymoron.

  • This is a very drinkable red but misses as a Dry Creek zin. Decanted for an hour and the wine showed light red fruit up front but lacks the structure, depth and zest of the DC Zins I adore. Very drinkable but not noteworthy.

  • Better showing than on Election Night last November. The midpalate is showing more body and the wine has better presence in the mouth. A mouthful of red fruit with a very creamy exterior, this is reminiscent, oddly, of a well-oaked Rioja that has softened with age. More dried herbs on the palate than last November, which gives this more of the "Zin-ness" that I found lacking last time. I'm usually very oak-averse, but despite the creamy oak, I liked this wine this time.

Bottle purchased during one of our Sonoma trips a few years ago and enjoyed during our first "vacation" weekend when the kids were away at camp.

  • PKNUT was dead on with what I experienced with this one too. This was a rare disappointment on a dry creek Zin for me. The nose was tight, fruit on the palate ok, decent mouthfeel but that's about it. No pepper and spice, no sense of place. Maybe it needs more time.
