Now fully mature since my last note. Nice nose of ripe fruit and florals. Tastes of blackberries and black cherrie, vanilla, and spice. Medium bodied with moderate finish. Solid cab franc. Would purchase again.

This bottle of Lang and Reed Napa Valley Cabernet Franc ‘Two-Fourteen’ was a great find on a restaurant wine list. The 'Two-Fourteen, refers to a Clone 214, a cultivar that originated in the Loire Valley of France. This wine has a very deep purple/ruby color and is dark and opaque. It's nose is fragrant, with aromas of florals, dark berries, cherries, leather and spice. The wine tastes of blackberries, cherries, herbs, and vanilla. It is medium to full bodied and silky textured with a rich and creamy mouthfeel. It's ending is long with gritty tannins. Very enjoyable. Will buy some for the cellar.

This is very nice, fruit and leather on the nose, smooth to drink, very dry, barely detectable fruit on the palatte but just not special or complicated. Oregon Wine Geeks probably nailed it although I get less body and fruit forward on the palette than they do. At this price point it doesn't wow me at all, but very drinkable.

Our lunch at 38 Central today included this Napa Valley Cabernet Franc that comes from winemakers that specialize in Cabernet Franc. It's a dark ruby wine, opaque and rich looking with medium legs. The nose is floral, red currants, box wood, and herbal spices. A fruit forward palate with a very full round body, glycerin, with a layered tannic finish that is quite long.

Napa Valley Vintners- wines at Wine Bloggers Conference trade tasting; 8/16/2012-8/22/2012 (Portland, OR): Notes on the nose of rose hips, olive, black pepper, black cherry & currant. Rich elegant palate with flavors of silky tea, cedar and tobacco to along with the cherry and currant fruit. Well balanced. Grippy through the palate, finishing full with notes of baking spice. Really enjoyed this one.
