Slow ox few hours. Finished next day. Mostly merlot. Dark fruit some tobacco and complexity. Tannins present but not obtrusive. Drinking very well now with little air. Next day held up mostly some fading of the fruit

Decanted briefly. Intense red and dark cherry fruit, floral notes of violets. Leather, vanilla and baking spice, tertiary aromas in the background only. Tannins still with plenty of grip, felt somewhat sandy. Juicy palate otherwise, decent presence. Also a nice spicy touch on the palate. Is this finally coming around? Forth bottle from the same case. The first two in 2021 felt tired with cooked fruit. This one to the contrary felt still vigorous with plenty of life left.

I really don't need to add anything to the Robert Parker WA 96 + rating and review. Opened this for friends at Ringside Steakhouse in Portland, OR. Absolutely delicious. This is my second of three bottles; opened and reviewed the first one in 2015. Patience is a virtue!

Fruit mostly ripe raspberry, some green herbs. Other than that a bit too extracted and limited complexity. That said, an incredibly powerful palate, rich, and this drinks fantastically right now. Clearly a more hedonistic than intellectual wine at this point, and I'm really glad this drank so well after the previous two bottles from the same case were tired and even flawed.

I was inspired to open one of these based on recent CT notes. I drank this over a three day period pouring directly from bottle into Zalto Bordeaux glasses each day (no decant other than it sitting in the glass for 30/45 mins) This was stored at room temp in bottle with Private Preserve after opening for the next two days. Small amount of light grain sediment found on the third day when bottle was emptied. First couple of sips on the first day right after PNP (w/ no food btw) were amazing/surprising - my immediate thought was "this is bangin' right out of the gate! wow!". Over the three day period, similar notes as 422dbowlsby in 2017 (warm red berry and brown sugar) but instead with soft tannins. Nose/mouse always pleasant over the 3 day period and not hot at all. I gotta say, this was very very good and it seems to have a good amount of life left. I didn't get any of the soy sauce notes or see any cloudiness from the more recent CT notes so not sure what's going on with my bottle vs others. But I also didn't do any type of lengthy decant. This is a solid 93 in my book at the moment.
