My final bottle bought at the producer. Developped colour. Intense aromas of tar, dried fruit, Wood and Earth. Full bodied, lots of sweet fruit (plums, black cherries, figs), fine tannins, some alcohol that follows into slightly burning aftertaste. Long finish domianted by tar and dried fruit (and alcohol). Fine wine, but somewhat unbalanced. Has aged very well. Served With legs of farm chicken and cauliflower cream. Fine match, although some red meat would have been better

Decanted in proper glass for 1 1/2 hours prior to dinner. Served with Trader Joes truffle stuffed ravioloi with truffle sauce (I didn't feel like cooking). In the glass, hints of dried tart cherry, rose, leather, eucalyptus and pencil. Appearance a littel darker than just brickish. On the palate, dark red fruit and, as it progressed through the mea,l it turned to a taste of truffle, chocolate and and expresso. Renato Ratti was one of the "new turks", but with their new wine maker, they seem to be heading back to the traditional style. Kudos for them. This was our last bottle and still has another 5-10 years to reach full potential.
