  • Drink up now
Dried fruits, green herbal notes, lots of sous bois
    Fully integrated tannins
Shows what a great winemaker can do with a bad vintage
But i don’t see much upside potential in holding longer

  • A lovely older style Faiveley that, at long last , the tannins have resolved leaving the fruit to shine. A medium to full bodied burgundy where, with a couple of hours of breathing the nose moved from solemn meatiness to a mix of red fruit and red meaty with a top note of spice. The palate is full bodied with powerful fruit mingling with fine tannins. A lovely burgundy.

  • A more impressive showing than my first bottle of this. The tannins are beginning to integrate, there is a whiff of Nuits soil and iron, then more grip on the back-end. But it seems fine and balanced with enough fruit to be delicious while the tannin fades further with another 5-10 yrs in the cellar.

  • Really lovely, classic, and well defined pinot nose, slowly maturing but still pretty tight, with some bloody/iron cherries and minerals. It's softening up, and really very pretty, but ultimately still too tannic for prime drinking and needs to be left alone for a few more years. Whether it will still have that pretty fruit left, I can't say.

  • Deep transparent ruby in color. A big, bold nose of ripe cherries, minerals, truffle, and wood was fairly impressive. The wine was medium full in body, with good rich fruit, nice minerality, and energetic acidity. It was not that complex, or well defined; however, I would guess it was a touch on the young side. The finish was of decent length but I felt as though it was a bit harsh and tannic.
