Glengarry Wines - "Superstars of the Rhone Valley" tasting (Glengarry Wines and Spirits, Victoria Park, Auckland, New Zealand): Classic and gorgeous viogner nose - phenolic, apricot, white blossom, green leaf, quite a bit of oak (18 months aging in oak) - this has an inviting modern nose. On the palate, subtle and age-worthy - possibly the best integrated oak I have come across in a young white wine, some oak tannin and perfectly judged acid balance. This should put on weight and complexity over time. 91+

Serious Condrieu that may stand extended aging. Lots of toasted oak (50% new) - hazel nuts, honeysuckle, Lovely balance and texture. Some oak tannins. Needs another year or two to see where it is going. Yves Cuilleron is convinced this will age for a couple of decades...
