  • Fermented in amphorae, like Gravner's wines, this is a style that may not be for everyone. I personally love this style. Very aromatic, with apricots, peaches, and honey notes on the nose. The body is full, especially for a Sauvignon, with a very mouth-coating minerally texture, and a long finish. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill Sauvignon!

  • Very big nose - too big really - sort of in the way that many gewurztraminers are naso-assaultive. Your big, soft Auntie with too much perfume who hugs you and pinches your cheeks - well meant and all, but more something to be bourne rather than enjoyed. This wine is very floral, fruity and only a little like sauvignon blanc from other areas - in the way that Aussie Shiraz is an obvious and overblown version of the northern rhone. This was liked by others and pleasant in its way, but not my sort of wine.
