screw top, pnp, 60 degrees. in an excellent place right now, developed and rounded profile, rich, balanced. white flower, grassy nose. trop fruit, ripe pineapple, cyellow apple, acid contrast, dark caramel finish. paired spectacularly with mushroom swiss turkey burger, with caramelized onions. 13%.

Quite a different experience than first bottle, now 5+ years ago. This was quite nice aged chenin, pretty much as described by eugene..and jnewman. The inklings of tertiary flavors were interesting and pleasant, and complemented the white fruit, citrus, floral quality. Nose was not to me as robust as jnewman found, even with airtime, but still nice. Very nice balance and good length.

I don't drink Savenierres often, but its always interesting and fun to explore. The nose is wild with acacia, peach blossom, jasmine, orange peel, fresh hay, beeswax, and hints of damp stone. The palate is rich, unctuous and yet still feels somehow fairly fresh. It finishes beautifully and is quite tasty, but still seems to have years of positive development ahead.

(Domaine des Baumard Savennières) Light yellow color; intense, intriguing, lightly oily textured, poached pear, white pepper nose; very tasty, savory, white pepper, tart pear, chalk, mineral palate; medium-plus finish
