  • Eric's visit to DC - Champagne, White Burgundy, Rhone, Piedmont and etc. (Officina - Washington D.C.): Expressive fully mature nose displaying incredibly concentrated opulent yellow fruit, apricot, peach, pineapple, crème brulee, coconut, sweet spices, honey and earth. Incredible concentration, especially for an Auxey Duresses, packed deeply toned rich yellow fruit, fat and oily, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium to long opulent sweet yellow fruit driven finish with a hint of caramel and coconut at the end. Although it is a remarkable effort, there is absolutely no way to justify the current price. I imagine the 02 Marcassin will be similar but more complex and much cheaper.

  • EWG 10 Years On Tasting at Conrad's: Medium darker yellow with gold hues; Very aromatic with very intriguing contradictory nose of reduction and slight oxidative quality but with a concentration of flavor or depth that was uncanny. Apricot pit, straw, apple skin, limestony minerality start to come to mind. Great balance, everything in place, good lift. It had a "wanna be oily" texture but actually lighter weight on the palate, which seems to be the primary thing separating this village wine from tasting like a Grand Cru. Very cool and very thankful to Conrad for pulling this for 3 stragglers left after the dinner to polish off. EWG 10 years on tasting.

  • Golden color looks ripe and dense, signature Leroy nose of sweet citrus marzipan and yellow fruits. The core of fruits is sweet and tasty! The layers seems crumble up with a very acidic taste in the back and if this acidity is natural and not being acidified, I am sure it will one day integrate and expand the layers further..91+

  • Light golden color, nose with signature flinty note, stone fruit and slightly ripe citrus fruit. Palate on the lean side with very crisp and sharp acidity which is very different from the nose. Medium finish with faint minerality, an excellent but stratospherically priced Auxey.
