Decanted >3 hours. This was a bottle that Cayuse generously replaced after my previous one was flawed. Deep, dark juice with dark red/blue fruit, a hint of graphite and french herbs. I was a little disappointed that more "cabbiness" didn't come through on the nose or in the mouth. A well balanced wine.

See my note here MARCH 2018. Cellar stored since release . Tonight, it’s not much different, although it opened a little faster, an hour in the glass. No sign of aging, but also no sign of a more complex evolution. It should hold like this for another 5-10 years. Terrific with prime rib, charred beef, or burnt ends. I like the concentration, mint, cherries in cast iron, cassis, and grip. The 20% merlot contributes enough rich blueberry extract and black fruit to keep this delicious, and not challenging. Not much funk in this bottle; a little brett would add interest, beyond the obvious, but it’s not here.

I gave this bottle a thorough decanting and then let it air for an hour. The cork was in good shape and there was only a minor amount of sediment. The wine was in very good shape, and had classic Washington "Bordeaux" flavors. We had the second half of the bottle the following evening and it had improved further. While CellarTracker indicates this wine is past the end of its recommended drinking window, I think it will last several more years if stored properly. However, it is very good now if decanted properly.

Decanted >3 hours. We were really excited to try a 2010 Cayuse wine, especially after reading the reviews and thinking this could be special. I was able to get this in last years Cayuse auction due to cancellation of annual tasting party. I paid $105 for this bottle.
While I was expecting some normal Cayuse funk and overall taste differences, this bottle was somewhat medicinal. It might have been stored previously wrong or just a bad bottle but this was not good and very disappointed.
