Took this to a restaurant and they waived corkage because they broke the cork and some fell inside. Not the best vintage rose I've had but very drinkable if you like aged rose Champage. Bubbles were barely there but you could tell it wasn't a still wine. Warm pink in colour with notes of stewed strawberries, figs and some kind of warm autumn spice. Very good body with some heft stood up well to the olive oil marinated cold beef plate with shiitake and arugula. The restaurant kept the bottle well-chilled in an ice bucket which was fine for a warm summer evening dinner but a warmer serving temperature would have brought out more of the richer, nuttier notes I like in aged Champagne.

Veuve Clicquot Rose vertical, wine #3: mature berries, pickled strawberries, hints of oxidative notes. High acidity and grippy tannins, rich and fruity palate. Slightly tired on the finish, early maturing vintage? Drink now. BV=0, WV=1

acidity slightly towards touch of bitterness. A bit roasted. Good length and intensity.

Perfectly smooth. Very fine bubbles but not many left. This was past its prime but Still drinking well. Very pleasant. Just a bit boring.
