Burgundies at Chiu Tang: The nose was dominated by oak, usually I am quite tolerant of oak in whites but this was too much for me but others loved it so probably it is a matter of preference. Someone managed to nail this as a Girardin and it did show similarly to a 2009 Quintessence that I tried a couple of months ago. Palate was very good though, had a fine balance of linearity and weight of fruit that showed its pedigree. Thought this came from a balanced vintage like '07.

Ginger, yellow peach, oranges and lemon for me whilst showing some VA. Palate similarly conveyed, a touch of VA, lime pith, ripe red apples and some yellow citrus fruit. Nice acidity, there was some nice intensity and tension here, I felt it perhaps a little awkward and not quite balanced.

Medium golden, mature and tropical notes, primarily pineapple then minutes later grows more citrus driven. Lively acidity and good weight and extract carry this to an incredibly long finish. 95+

Rich and powerful with plenty of stuffing. The nose is beautifully floral and exotic. The Girardin oak is there but not obstrusive. Drinking well now.

In a good place. White peach and green apple fruits. Rich, layered and textural. Plenty of spice. Long and chewy.
