  • 2nd of 12. Powerful peppery blackberry fruit, Rich and velvety with great balance and a long finish. Still youthful and plenty of years remaining. 4+/5

  • 1st of 12. Initial impression was an explosion of herbs and spices on the nose. Continued on the palate but balanced by wild berry fruits. Still feels young, good fruit and acid balance. Long finish but slightly vegetal at end. Drunk with quality farm shop sausages and mustard mash, superb. 4/5

  • Snagged one of these, and a few '04's of different Cornas at close out. Decided to open the '01 instead, to help decide on whether to let the'04's sit. Well, if they are anything like this wine, they will sit comfortably for a few years. This started out as a good wine, but kept getting better with every sip. Hit a sweet spot on hour three, at which point it was so good I forgot to leave some for day two. At frist, slightly austure, didn't seem to have that much body, but nice rich nose. Went fairly well with a NY steak dish. Later that night, though, this took on weight, and the blue and black fruits came forward, along with touches of black pepper and lots of minerality. Long finish that just stuck in the mouth, despite being completely dry. Great strucuture. This won't wow anyone at a tasting, but drinks so well. Upon opening: 89 At bottom of bottle: 93
