Decanted 3.5 hours. Nose is not overpowering, but wine is terrific on the palate. Baking spices, black tea, cigar box and eucalyptus are all present. Cherry cola sneaks in on the finish. Everything is in harmony. This wine is at its best now. Enjoy it!

Along with dark, red fruit, there's smoke and anise notes on the nose, all of which carry through to the midweight palate along with lots of earthy sous bois flavors and gamy undertones. This is not a light, lacy Chambolle, but, rather, has a definite rustic feel to it. Still, a quite delightful village Chambolle.

This is really nice village Chambolle that's drinking very well tonight with pretty red fruit, lots of earth, sous bois notes and good depth for its level. Just delightful.

Interesting unconscious choice of C-M back to back nights. This one was very light red color, nose of strawberry, saddle, herbs, toast. On the palate, a bunch of strawberries with some raspberry acidity, slight sour note. Medium- bodied, more oak notes on the finish which makes a nice bookend to the nose. The mid-palate needs some fleshing out, not sure if it is going to happen. Have I learned to stay away from '09 villages yet? 13%
