Cherry, tobacco, chocolate, cedar and tasty, fine tannins. Perhaps not quite as showy as the 2009 vintage (we had last year at the same birthday party), but still a very good wine. And a real crowd-pleaser. Drink now.

Not as good as the 2005 or 2000 but still an excellent wine. Nothing is outstanding but the balance is wonderful. The tannins are soft and integrated, the nose is more Margaux than St Emilion, the fruits are berry and currant but not overly sweet at all and the finish satisfying. A good all round wine, what amazes me is I paid less than £20 a bottle for it. Perhaps making it the best value buy I have made in either this decade or the last

The nose is warm, had me worried immediately. it is dark fruited, partly a mature feel like plums, a bit extracted with alcohol sticking out - I think the winemaking stamp is excessive as I dont see this as the vintage speaking. I would not seek this out further.
Edit: rating now improved to 88 after Coravin’d and on Day 4 - still think it has some of the flaws above but it is a smooth and pleasant wine.

Dark ruby in colour, aromatic nose of French barrique, leathery fruits, very modern in style, a little rustic, not fully mature yet! From half bottle!
