10 years after Riesling tasting - 2010 (Restaurant Holz und Feuer, Kirchheim, Germany): *** brief impression from tasting event, no detailed tasting note *** Glass: Gabriel Standard and Sophienwald Bordeaux Bottle opened at noon, double decanted. Drunk about 8-10h later. Clear, pale golden color. Nose with ripe yellow fruit, citrus and mineral notes. On the palate very deep, wonderful pressure, great, well integrated acidity. Citrus notes, some bitter zesty notes. Long. Beautiful, rather youthful Idig. 92-93

A sunny RIESLING Afternoon at the MILLERNTOR (FC St.Pauli Club Loge, Haupttribüne, Millerntor stadium): From MG: The most underrated vintage for Riesling in Germany, a lot of the professionel critics do not like or UNDERSTAND this vintage, as from the Nahe this IDIG is showing a really electric tension, still biting acidic, mineralic all the way, this is RIESLING! And young, so young on the midpalate, great bottle, for me the best of this Riesling-aficionado-tasting, ending long+ with a still demanding acidity, will improve over the next decade+, especially from MG and wellstored bottles, **(***), 95-96(+) potential

Impressive nose with wet stone and hints of petrol. We find herbs and liquorice. On the palate herbs, liquorice, toast (something between petrol and oak notes), filbert. Silky mouthfeel. Long finish. Perfect with seabass with a hint of star anis and zucchini noodles. Drinking sooo beautifully right now. 2010 is underrated. Unfortunately our only bottle.
