Opened the bottle 1h before the first glass. In direct comparison with IDIG 2004 and 2007. Straw yellow. Similar to the 2004 vintage a slight petrol vanished quickly and fruit developed in the glass, but less minerality and freshness, medium finish. Less structured than 2004, but at a high level and much better than 2007. It will not improve with further cellaring, I would drink up soon.

A sunny RIESLING Afternoon at the MILLERNTOR (FC St.Pauli Club Loge, Haupttribüne, Millerntor stadium): Two bottles in fine condition captured after a hard bidder fight till the end at one of the recent auctions, golden yellow coloured in the glass, perfect showing right now, juicy, tasty, yellow peach, mango, very dense and still tight, very long aftertaste, two great IDIG bottles, from this bottles in a great place right now, enjoy! ****-(*****), 94(+?)

Mature Riesling from Pfalz. Golden colour, developed nose with apricots and mango. Rich mouthfeel, high density. Lacks in acidity to gain that extra freshness.

This was a stunner in the duell against Keller Hubacker 05 a few years ago ( 96 ) It had now settled down. Lost a bit of its acid charme , but improvved on the mineral side . Big but not too big mature riesling. Driink in the next 4 years

Christmann Idig vertical (AuZone, Stockholm): Nose with citrus, smoke, noticeable minerality with stone and slate character, well integrated petroleum notes with a slatey impression, just slightly flowery. An elegant and developed nose, best of the flight. Dry on the palate, with citrus, minerality, high acidity, powerful concentration, very fine balance, some viscosity and alcoholic feeling, and a long aftertaste with grapefruit and mineral. Classical and well-balanced GG with development, but still has a long life ahead of it. 93 p
