Popped and poured at dinner with Julie at Bernal Heights resto. It was past its prime. Wasn't spoiled or sour. Just a bit over-the-hill, slightly sweet, amber color. Might have been able to pass it off as an after-dinner wine, due to its sweetness. Sorry that I brought on a date. Don't bother, use for cooking or for making vinegar.

Very light floral nose with just a hint of cream. Nice mineral and light fruits on the palate. Great balance of acidity makes this wine crisp and refreshing. Lovely lemon peel on the finish is the perfect ending. This is an old world white. ($12)

Saturday afternoon at Richard and Trille's (Moiano): Blend of Vernaccia, Chardonnay, Malvasia and Vermentino. Full-bodied, rich, complex for an Italian white. Very pleasant and moderately intense on nose and palate. Skimpy notes at this point in the day, which I cannot recreate from memory, but I liked it a lot. Brought by Alison as a ringer (because of the Chardonnay in the blend).

A little bit sweet, but not overly so. An interesting wine, but not something I would normally buy.

Distinct thick over-ripe syrupy with apricot.
