Terrific classic, savory northern rhone nose -- black fruit, cracked pepper, smoked meat, old leather and herbs. Palate has medium body with good polish and a suave style all with the same savory flavor profile of the nose. Only complaint is the diminishing intensity in the back half of the wine. But for the price point and pedigree, very nice.

consistent with prior notes - an intriguing wine that has continued to improve with age. Paired great with grilled Salmon but given acidity (high) and flavor profile (iodine, meat, tobacco) this can pair with a wide variety of beef / pork or chicken. 92+
Would buy again.

This drank really well. Blood, iodine, saline, dark cherry on nose. On palate, dark cherry, tobacco, blackberry flavor profile. Very nice. 92+ Need to try more recent vintages. Would buy again.

Classic, beautiful St. Jo. Perfect combo of fruity and savory (at times green olive was overwhelming and then dark fruits peeked back in). Bloody. Intoxicating nose. Enjoyed with brisket but would be better with BBQ steak. I'd say that I now believe the hype around this wine, but I'm not sure anyone really cares other than a select few missionaries. In any event, I'm a convert.

This is a nice value of a wine. Tastes very much like a northern rhone syrah with good acidity. Not the most complex but tough to expect more at this price point.
